Medical School of Guangxi University was established on December 28, 2016. The Medical School offers a comprehensive educational system from undergraduate to doctoral programs. It provides Bachelor's degree of Science in Pharmacy, Academic and Professional Master's degrees of Science in Pharmacy, Academic Master's degrees of Engineering in Biomedical Engineering, and Doctoral degree in Science in Biology. There are currently 381 undergraduate students and 327 graduate students enrolled in the Medical School.

 

The Medical School presently has 43 staffs, 34 of whom hold doctoral degrees. The faculty members of Medical School including 7 full professors and 12 associate professors, and there are 13 Ph.D. supervisors and 29 master's supervisors. Among the faculty members, there are 30 full-time teachers, 2 nationally recognized high-level talents, and 3 high-level talents recognized in Guangxi.

 

The Medical School hosts several research institutions and platforms, including the Engineering Research Center of Special Medicine of the Pan-Beibu Gulf (Training Base), Ministry of Education; Guangxi Key Laboratory of Special Biomedicine; Guangxi International Joint Laboratory for Bio-Medicine, Guangxi University Brain and Intelligence Research Center, and Guangxi University Experimental Animal Center. The Medical School has established 13 stable off-campus comprehensive practice teaching internship bases with well-known pharmaceutical companies inside and outside Guangxi. 

 

The Medical School actively engages in cutting-edge scientific research and has produced innovative scientific results. Since its establishment, the Medical School has undertaken 90 scientific research projects with total funding of 31.2152 million yuan. These include 22 national projects, such as 20 National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC), including 2 National Key R&D Program of China, and 1 Major International Joint Research Project of National Natural Science Foundation of China. The Medical School has received 24 regional scientific research projects, including 2 Guangxi Key Research and Development Projects, 2 Guangxi Innovation-Driven Development Special Projects, and 1 Central Government Guiding Local Science and Technology Development Special Project. And the Medical School has been granted 25 invention patents and has published 234 scientific papers.
